This school is located in the Del Mar Park region
The school attendance boundaries are between 6th Avenue on the north (including the Hoffman Heights neighborhood) with Alameda to the south, Peoria to the west and Chambers to the east
The school attendance boundaries include the following neighborhoods within Del Mar:
Lyn Knoll

Why We Exist
In 2018, Aurora Public Schools in collaboration with the Aurora community began a project called Blueprint APS. The goal was to give families school choice and to streamline the use of each school building to maximize student usage and to save the taxpayers money. One region that was impacted was the Del Mar Park Region.
Through much collaboration and decision making, Lyn Knoll Elementary, South Middle School and Sixth Avenue would close to utilize those buildings in more efficient ways. The children in these neighborhoods will consolidate into one, single neighborhood school: This new P8 school, Del Mar Academy.
Our Community...By The Numbers
About 70% of our students are Latinx/Hispanic, 23% are Black/African American and the other 7% represent various other races, including multi-racial students.
80% of our students receive Free and Reduced Lunch (FRL); we have a Title 1 designation
55-69% of our students are English Language Learners
Represent 26 languages and about as many countries
We will open with 675 students, with a capacity of about 1,000. We anticipate reaching capacity by 2026.
Our school serves a center-based, special education program called Significant Support Needs (SSN). These are students with varying cognitive and physical abilities. We will have about 40 of these students.
